Christien Davies
-- Basic Information
Full Name: Christien Peter Davies Nickname(s): Chris, though only people who barely know him call him this Power Name: Malachite Age: 17 What Am I?: Ronald McDonald
-- Appearance
Celebrity Claim Jared Padalecki
Hair Shaggy and dark brown, it falls over his eyes and he has a habbit of pushing his hand through it when he's stressed.
Eyes Bright green, hence the alias "Malachite".
Body He stands at around 6 feet 3 inches, and though he is not lankily skinny, he is not very broad.
Usual Clothing Baggy trousers mostly (usually jeans of some sort), unless he is doing physical training. He will usually wear long-sleeved t-shirts, though will occasionally wear baggy short-sleeved ones if it is really hot. Colours-wise, Christien sticks to dull colours. Never anything too bright.
Distinguishing Features None, unless you count his extremely bright green eyes.
Other Significant Relatives Daniel Johnson, step-father, aged 45, now lives in a small town on the south coast.
Short Bio Christien grew up in a fairly normal family. He went to school, had a decent home life with his mum and step-dad. Christien grew up believing Daniel to be his real father until he turned ten, when they thought he was old enough to understand that his biological father, John Davies, had left his mum before he had been born. Christien accepted all of this with good faith, still loving Daniel as a father-figure.
On Christien's eleventh birthday, however, John Davies showed up and caused a lot of fuss, leaving Daniel paranoid and Cassie angry and confused. Soon after, Daniel moved out, as he could see that Cassie still loved John and needed time to sort things out with him. Christien stayed with his mum. Christien didn't like John Davies from the start, though this was quickly attributed by adults to the fact that Christien saw him as the man who had effectively replaced his dad. Which was true, he did see him that way, but he also saw how unhappy John Davies made his mum. There wasn't a single time that John visited that Cassie wasn't left crying, hugging her son for comfort.
It wasn't until a few months later when John moved in with them that Christien saw how John treated Christien's mum.
((Will finish when I have time!))
-- Friends
Room-Mate Helena Haertwright
Best Friend Doesn't really have one. Christien thinks it's best not to attach himself to any person in particular.
Other Friends Lots of people in the school will come to think of Christien as a friend, but Christien will no doubt not reciprocate the feeling.
Girlfriend None.
School Popularity 7-8. With his apparently cheeky and boistruous personality, Christien is a hit with the lads and ladies alike.
-- Personality
On the surface Christien comes across as a somewhat lazy and laid-back person who could charm the pants off a policeman. He is polite and generous, kind and gentle, but is also a laugh and a tease when the need arises. He can be a total flirt, and seems an excellent choice to confide in.
In reality Truth is, the above is all a farce. In reality, Christien is someone who thinks evey action through before taking even the slightest step. He is a calculating and manipulative person who will do quite literally anything that will mean that his mission is completed. All of the emotions and feelings he shows in the public eye are fake. He is luckily an excellent actor, as although everyone sees him as a jovial and cheerful character, their assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. Christien doesn't care much for other people, especially those who are weaker than him. If someone were slowing him down on a mission, Christien wouldn't skip a heartbeat in leaving them behind. The mission is everything to him, and he hasn't failed one yet.
-- Other Information
Best Subject Combat. Christien is "fit as a fiddle", to give a common phrase, and loves any form of exercise.
Worst Subject Christien isn't overly enthusiastic about maths, as he doesn't see its use in the real world beyond the basics of calculation.
Status New student (also a spy for Demetrius)
Powers Strength and speed
Power 1 - Strength This is Christien's main/strongest power, one which he has had the most time to develop. Chris can lift weights up to 10 times the size a normal human can. As he does not have the body of a weight-lifter, his power can go unnoticed until he needs to use it.
Power 2 - Speed Christien's second power is that of speed. He can move extremely fast, under almost any circumstances. The only place he can't move with almost the speed of a hummingbird's wings is when he is underwater. However, as Christien is supposed to be a new student, he has to pretend that this is a new power that will be discovered shortly after arriving in the college.
Sample Roleplay
Five minutes after leaving the Healer's Quarters, Christien was speeding along the motorway on a borrowed motorbike. The only problem with travelling was that it gave him time to think, and at the moment, Christien would have much preferred to have no time to think whatsoever. However, he didn't have much choice in the matter, and instead tried to focus his thoughts on his upcoming meeting with Daniel, rather than thinking about Helena... And the baby.
Christien hoped fervently that Daniel wasn't in any trouble. Even though Daniel had pretty much abandoned him and his mother when Christien's biological father had turned up, Christien didn't hold a grudge against him. After all, he had grown up thinking the man was his father. It had been a shock to discover that he wasn't, and Christien had never really accepted this new man as his father.
The journey to Little Whittam, where Christien assumed Daniel still lived, took two hours to reach, and by the time Christien pulled up outside a small, homely-looking bungalow, Christien's muscles were sore from being in the same position for such a long time. He promptly turned off the engine and stretched his arms in the air, making his shoulders pop. With a small sigh, Christien looked at the building. When Christien had been younger, it had been Daniel's mother who had lived here, but she had died not long before Christien's father had come back, and the house had become Daniel's property. It was the only place that Christien could think to find Daniel now, and as he tugged off his helmet, his conclusion was proved correct as he heard a door opening behind him.
"Chris?" He swung around. Nobody called him that anymore; hadn't done for years. But his mother and Daniel had always called him Chris. Christien's eyes locked with those of the man standing in the doorway, bright green and a deep, rich blue. He didn't say anything, but just watched Daniel as he stepped out of the door and came towards him. "I didn't know if you would come."Didn't know if you were still alive, is what you mean. Christien sighed, looking down at the helmet in his hands, but looked back up again at Daniel with a smile only seconds later.
"Hi Daniel." He closed the gap between them and wrapped his arms around Daniel in a tight hug. "I'm sorry I haven't been around... I've... Had a lot going on..." As if that summed up the last few years. But can I trust Daniel with the truth? Christien frowned, closing his eyes as he just held Daniel. Besides mum, he's the closest thing I've ever had to a parent. Of course I can trust him.
"But where have you been?" Daniel took a step away from Christien and looked him in the eyes again. Heh, I'm taller than him now Christien thought with amusement. He was taller than Daniel, by at least two or three inches. It was a strange feeling, looking down on him rather than up at him. "When I heard that you'd gone missing, I looked everywhere for you, but..." Daniel shook his head, then turned and motioned to the front door. "Go on, we'd better go inside." Christien nodded and followed Daniel into the house.
As he walked inside, Christien couldn't help but notice how hardly anything had changed since he had been here last, even though the occupant of the house had changed. As he popped his head into the living room, Christien saw the wooden giraffe statues in the corner of the room, looking highly polished and well-cared-for. An involuntary smile crept across his features as he remembered trying to sit on them as a child, giving them each names as he pretended to gallop away on them.
Christien turned his head towards Daniel again as the latter man let out a long sigh and sat down on the worn, red-leather sofa. Christien went to another seat and sat down, well-aware that this conversation was going to be awkward at worst, lengthy at best.
"Chris, you-" "I have a lot of explaining to do, right?" Christien cut Daniel off, a weary smile on his face. Daniel nodded, a strange expression on his face as he settled back into the chair. "You have the look of someone who's been through a whole life in a short time." Daniel said suddenly, and Christien looked out of the wide window to his side. "I guess you never really got over your mother's death. God knows I haven't-" "No, it's just that." Christien heaved a big sigh and slouched down in the chair, feeling suddenly relaxed in this familiar setting. "The truth is, I... I've been busy." He finished inadequately, unsure where to start in his explanation. "Tell me." Daniel. He was always understanding, always reasonable. He had always been that sort of person, which was probably why Christien's mother had fallen in love with him. Such caring people didn't come along all that often.
Starting with odd bits and pieces, Christien started to explain to Daniel about Demetrius Lavine and Crystall College, and the supernatural powers that some people possessed, and the battles between changing history and keeping it the same. He didn't mention anything of is own activities; that could come later. "So do you... Have these special powers too?" Daniel asked hesitantly, and Christien could see that he was trying to believe, trying to understand, but it was such a wild concept that being told everything in one go would be a muddle to anyone.
Christien just nodded, but, again, he didn't go into the details of his own powers. It wasn't very necessary to the explanation. "And you're at this College?" Christien hesitated at this and looked away from Daniel. "I am now." "But...?" Daniel didn't miss much. He could tell there was more to this than met the eye. "But until a few weeks ago, I worked for Demetrius. When I... When I ran away from that last foster home, he found me and took me in." Christien looked back at Daniel and their gazes locked. Does he think less of me now? Somehow, even though Christien had hardly thought of this man for years, he didn't think he could live with himself if Daniel was ashamed of him, ashamed of what he had become, what he had done. When Daniel said nothing, Christien decided to continue. "About a month ago, I was sent to Crystall College." "Sent?" "Yeah, I was sent to... Gather information."To spy. Though Christien didn't say it in so many words, the implications of his words were obvious.
"But that's not the reason you're there now, is it?" Christien heard the doubt in Daniel's voice and looked him in the eyes again, willing him to believe his next words. "No, it's not. A lot has happened in the last month..." Christien sighed, thinking back on all that had happened, and how this change in his life had all come about because of Helena. If he hadn't met her... I would still be Demetrius' pawn.
