HEY GUYS,
OKAY EIJI HAS SENT ME A MESSAGE THAT BRINGS UP THE IDEA OF A RE-VAMP FOR THE SITE AND A BOARD CLEAN-UP AS WE DO HAVE QUITE A LOT AS I'VE ADDED THEM OVER THE YEARS. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA TO ME AS EVERYONE SEEMS BUSY (OTHERWISE THEY'D BE ONLINE RIGHT?) INCLUDING ME AND FAYE.

THEREFORE I AM OFFICIALLY PUTTING THIS SITE ON HIATUS WHILE I HAVE SOME SURGERY DONE AND SORT OUT THE BACK-TO-COLLEGE STUFF THAT I'M SURE MOST OF US WILL BE WORKING ON AS WELL.

I WILL SEND A MESSAGE AROUND TO YOU ALL WHEN IT IS BACK ONLINE. I'M NOT SURE IF FAYE IS WILLING TO STAY ON AS A STAFF MEMBER OR NOT BUT EVEN IF SHE IS, SHE HAS HER OWN SITES TO DEAL WITH SO I'M GOING TO NEED STAFF WHEN THE SITE IS BACK ONLINE. Hello Everybody!

When I have some free time (ha!) I am planning on making a new skin for the board, and I wanted you lot to decide the skin colour scheme ^^

I will be altering the graphics ever so slightly to make sure that they will work with the new skin (don't worry they shouldn't look much different) but this means that it'll take a while to get it all sorted. Once I've done that I'll be able to make more skins faster because I won't have to keep altering the graphics ^^ Lol.

Anyway, please vote and I'll be making the new skin as soon as possible ^^

I'm not going to vote, but I'd like to suggest another option;

I really like Helena's signature (the colour scheme especially), and was wondering if the off-white, beige, and brown could be carried on in a new skin. I'm a fashion stylist at my job, and the warm, creamy colours look really nice together. We could even add a splash of coral to add a little highlight to it. I love making graphics in my free time, and I'd be more than willing to contribute to the making of a new skin.

I voted for light blue, but I think a blue or purple skin would look nice.

To be honest, I'm not much for the idea of greys/whites/beiges - I like darker colors. =/ My suggestion to throw out is maybe try some kind of scene for the background? (like instead of having just a plain patterned background, use... oh, a forest scene for example)

Heh, the blocks are just for colour reference, but I understand the blandness. As for a forest scene, I'm not a fan of scenic backgrounds because I use very large computer monitors when I access my rp sites, and I always see the pattern repeat in a choppy, unattractive manner. Continuous backgrounds are much more aesthetically pleasing, but to balance both your desire for detail and the need for continuity, I'd recommend a large floral pattern with more subtle undertones.

Ick, technical babble.

I like darker schemes too personally, and I wouldn't mind something blue or purple.

I voted red, just because I liked the site being red before you changed to green, lol xD

As for Skye and Clarissa's suggestions, I think the beige/brown could work! I'm thinking like you're Rosalie skin on MW? And that has the swirly/flowrey background, and I've already told you it's my favourite so far ^^"

Personally I much prefer lighter skins.... Darker skins are really bad on my eyes for some reason. I end up seeing dots everywhere once I look away from the computer xD But I guess it depends how the graphics fit together, I mean I have a few of my own sites with quite dark skins, and they don't seem to kill my eyes too much.....

Lol. You know so many of my skins already it makes it so easy for you to explain Faye ^^ Lol.

Okay, first of all I like that colour design Skye. The only problem we have with it is that I would be unable to change the graphics in the sidebar to that peachy font. I think without them it might look bland but I can experiment with a skin that'll combine the two colours if not quite in the way you show it ^^.

I'm liking the idea of a blue/red skin as well Clarissa/Faye... Those are the ones I'm encouraged to go for at the moment, but I'll wait and see what other people vote first...

Skye is right on the background image. If you don't get something that tesilates perfectly it looked really tiled and horrid. But what I can do it try and alter an image so that it will tesilate and see how that goes...

OR- I can use the same image I did for Her Golden Beauty skin on MW right Faye? Lol. (I can't believe that's your fav so far... Lol. It's the one I spent the least amount of time on lol...)

With regards to dark skins I won't be making very many that are really dark. In basic explaination of it- I can't alter the graphics in the side bar. What I am gonna do, is change them so that instead of having dark green/light green squares they'll all be grey but with different opacity- making them look green. Then I can apply it to all the skins. But if I've got different opacitys of black/grey they aren't gonna show up properly on a very dark skin ergo- no dark skin ^^ Lol. This is a technique I've used on one other of my sites and it turned out pretty good...

I'll be making some lights and darks but there'll be no really dark colours or blacks so those that don't like them can relax ^^ Lol.

Okay guys the poll is now locked.

I now have this following list of skins, in preference order to make:

Light Blue,
Royal Blue,
Grey/Orange/Ochre,
Purple.

If anyone wants to make a further suggestion please feel free to send me a PM. If not, I will start a new poll with a new set of colours for you all to vote for again ^^.
